6 PERSONAL PROTECTIVE TIPS
Use PPE always and anywhere where necessary. Observe the instructions for use, maintain them well and check regularly if they still offer sufficient protection. But when do you use what type of protection?
PROTECT YOUR HANDS WITH THE RIGHT GLOVES
If you are providing care to someone who is sick at home or in another non-healthcare setting, it is important to wear gloves. Use disposable gloves when cleaning and disinfecting the area around the person who is sick or other surfaces that may be frequently touched in the home.
FEET PROTECTION
For use on tile and linoleum, the non skid variety is usually the safest bet. Either way, as long as you have clean, sterile disposable shoe covers at your disposal, you can ensure the cleanliness of the patient’s environment. FTA Enterprises remains dedicated to stocking the very best and the very latest in medical supplies and equipment.
COVERALLS
Disposable Non-Woven Coveralls are commonly used in laboratories, factories and hospitals. These coveralls are useful for many incidents such as when researchers are handling chemicals, doctors are exposed to bodily substances and more. Be sure to dispose of or wash the coveralls after you have been exposed to a vulnerable environment.
WEAR A MASK
Consider wearing a face mask when you are sick with a cough or sneezing illness (with or without fever) and you expect to be around other people. The face mask will help protect them from catching your illness. Healthcare settings have specific rules for when people should wear face masks.
WASH YOUR HANDS
COVID-19 is a respiratory virus and is mainly spread through droplets created when a person who is infected coughs, sneezes, or talks. You can protect yourself by keeping social distance (at least 6 feet) from others and washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds.
WHEN GLOVES AREN'T NEEDED
When using a shopping cart or using an ATM, gloves will not necessarily protect you from getting COVID-19.The best way to protect yourself from germs when running errands etc is to regularly wash your hands with soap & water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol.
